It’s an unfortunate scene when you walk into many gyms. So often, you see almost all the weights taken up by men and the majority of cardio equipment claimed by the women. If you’ve never noticed, check it out next time. It’s invariably the case.
Here at Tri Fit we know how important it is for women to engage in weightlifting. Not just any weight lifting either, but lifting heavy. In addition to building stronger muscles, lifting heavy weights is one of the only ways to increase bone density.
Unfortunately most women believe the fallacy that lifting heavy weights will make them look manly or bulky. This is simply not true.
Why? Because females don’t produce enough testosterone; the primary hormone used in building muscle. Without that extra testosterone, we ladies simply can’t –as in we are biologically unable to – build big muscles like guys. Science confirms this.
In addition to that a great deal of calories have to be consistently eaten each day. Most females don’t consume the adequate calorie consumption to “feed” the muscles per say.
You also have to work extremely hard during your weight lifting workout, every single time, always pushing yourself through and beyond your comfort zone. Almost to an extreme level. When your muscles start burning and you know they are tearing can you push on and go harder? Most females don’t.
So, it’s time for us to stop worrying about excessive muscle mass when weight training, ladies. If anything it will make one look better. Woman lifting weights will help them shed fat, lean out, firm up and build strength + confidence.
